Mathematics is a set of modular learning materials prepared to help high school
vocational students, and others, develop and refine job-related mathematics
skills. The overall course includes
material that focuses on arithmetic operations, problem-solving techniques,
estimation of answers, measurement skills, geometry, data handling, simple
statistics, and the use of algebraic formulas to solve problems.
Though the text includes some material found in traditional areas of
arithmetic, geometry, algebra, and simple trigonometry, the emphasis remains on
the ability to understand and apply functional mathematics to solve problems in
the world of work.
