Just watch me do this page without ever mentioning, Gainax, Captain Nemo, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, or one my favourite SF writers of all time, Jules Verne. It all matters naught next to the beauty, both inner and outer, of Nadia. NADIA , THE SECRET OF BLUE WATER was one of the first anime I ever saw. I was entralled with it from the start, even though I only saw the first 8 episodes on the Streamline Pictures release. However, it wasn't until later when Emily and I bought a complete set of fansub videos that I finally got to see the entire series. Anyway, on to less tedious stuff about me. Nadia, of course. She is both fascinating and desirable and confounding. Makes me wish I could go back to my junior high school days and have her for a girlfriend. Follow her across the world and to the ends of the Earth. I would have and could have and should have. But enough of that maudlin jackassery for a moment. There is the deeper significance of Nadia as role-model to consider. NADIA was originally aired on Japan's version of Public Television, NHK Tokyo, after all. So oftimes there is a bit of didacticism in NADIA. Nadia is very independent and determined and strong-willed. She does not compromise her values, nor does she suffer fools gladly. Everything a girl should be, though many aren't. But then again, as always, my webpages aren't so much about the facts and details, but my emotional take on them. And Nadia is one to follow and return to again and again. Gorgeous, beautiful, and that circus outfit! YES!! |
